Making a Volcano

I found this Smithsonian volcano kit at Wallmart for $1 so of course I got it. This was a great project!
This project went along with our letter V is for Volcano

Helping Jumping Bean secure the lava tube.
The structure is done - ready for the plaster.

Here J.B. is putting the plaster strips on warm water and wrapping it around the Volcano

Wrapping more plater till we were all done. - I helped a little.

Painting has to be Jumping Bean's fav activity! - So he really enjoyed this. One day we painted it brown, which was great because it was our color of the week.

The next day we added red for the lava

Here we go ready to make our volcano erupt!

Jumping Bean is adding the baking soda and food coloring. - colors Red and Yellow to make Orange

J.B. is adding the vinegar and we watched it fizzle - well once was not enough so of course we had
to do it again, and again, and again.

We added more baking soda and just Red food coloring this time - This was a good one.
The slower you poor the vinegar the longer the eruption lasts.
