Christmas School Fun

For the month of Dec - we played!!!
It was an already busy season and I learned around Thanksgiving that I had to much planed and everything did not get done.
So we have been taking it slow - slower!

Morning Time With The Boys:

The boys did lots of free play-doh time

Put together a big floor puzzle of the Nativity

Gave them a christmas tree printable and some stickers.

Here they are with their decorated Christmas Trees.

Do-A-Dot letter J for Jesus.

More play-doh time - Mats came from 1+1+1=1

Curious showing me his play-doh creation

Mom's version of baby Jesus in a manger - so Jumping Bean was holding it and praying to Jesus
I thought it was too cute.

One To One with Jumping Bean:

I used the nativity preschool pack from 1+1+1=1
I had these great ambitions to make it a lap book with Jumping Bean.
Well we did some of the activities.

J.B. making a color book of the people and animals in the Nativity

Working on counting, and writing practice.

A fun word search game - you hide the words around the house - J.B. had to find them then write them out. He thought this was supper fun!!!

He made bracelets for everyone for Christmas.

K is for Kite

K is for Kite

We did Kk for the week of 12/5 - 12/9 - We did have fun with this.
Most of the printables  for this came from 2 Teaching Mommies

Morning Time with the Boys:

The boys making the letter Kk with play-doh
The play-doh mat came from 1+1+1=1

Making the letter K with do a dots.

K is for Kite pompom magnets - Curious is working on one from COHS
J.B. is working on from from 2 Teaching Mommies.

Jumping Bean's letter book got left out and Curious was all about checking it out. So J.B. ended up reading to Curious the letters, sounds and pic. - pretty cute - good review for J.B.

One to One with Jumping Bean:

J.B. with his letter Kk letter sheet. This comes from Home School Creations.

I cut the kites into rows then J.B. cut them out.

Funny after he cut them all out he only used 2 for each size.

Some different handwriting practices

I really like how 2 Teaching Mommies makes these pattern strips.
If I had more magnet paper I would print them on magnet paper then he could "play" with them in the kitchen while I cook.

I think graphing is right next to painting for J.B. so this time I printed off 2 sheets and graphed with him. Mom's on the left, J.B. on the right. The orange kite had the most rolls.

Capital K - Lowercase k sort from COHS

Working on vocab cards. - After we go over each one, we set up a race track and race from the pocket chart to the lap tray. Grab a vocab card, say the card and sound, race back to the pocket chart. The one with the most cards wins. - J.B. loves this, plus it's good exercise!

Cutting and pasting a Kite number puzzle - we used the one from 11-20 so J.B. could work on those numbers.

J.B. working on a What is Different sheet.

I needed to get some things made in the kitchen - So I put J.B. on the counter with some beads.
He made a great neckless!

Tot Time with Curious

We did OK on our Tot Time - Curious was only really interested in a few things this week.
So just trying to rebound from Thanksgiving and gearing up for Christmas we
did ok in this area of time.
I'm probably the one who need to make it more intentional!

Our Tot trays for Dec 5 - 9th

Green:
A Melissa and Doug Kite Puzzle
Blue:
A Shapes puzzle by tuber-ware
Red:
Shapes / Size puzzle by Melissa and Doug
Yellow:
String wooden shapes beads

Curious working on the kite puzzle

String Beads are by far his favorite - Curious will string some up then drag them around behind him all over the house. - Kinda cute.

I could never leave stickers in the Tot Bin - I would have them every where!!!
But thought it would be a good Tot activity So I gave J.B. his own set, and I helped Curious with his.

Curious would point to the sticker - I would give it to him and he put them on the page - OK I helped him out with where a few things should go.
He is proud to show off is pic! (LOL)

J.B. working on his sticker Pic - Good Job bud!
- I guess the polar bears are playing hide and seek with frosty the snow man - At leas that was the story behind the picture.

Curious playing with string beads again - what he liked to do most this week.
