Tot Time with Curious

Curious at 22 months old, working on his puzzle.

Our Tot bins for the week of 2/13 - 2/17
Yellow
A transportations puzzle by Play N Learn - Sam's Club
Green
Some porcupine balls - Wallmart
Red
Leap Frog Truck Wash
Blue
Transportations puzzle - Melissa and Doug

Curious working on his puzzle - He did really well.

Trying to teach him to match Front and back - He was more interested in the sounds and music the toy would make. J.B. was no help - he thought is was so funny to mix up the cars and listen to the song.

I found some magnet clips at wallmart - Curious was not able to pick them up with the clips so he would put the balls in the clips then in the container.

Then he discovered that the balls fit perfect in the handles - then dump them in that way.

Sensory Bin - Monster Trucks

Monster Truck Sensory Bin

Items used. I know beans again... - well it's been -40 to -45 for almost 2 weeks.
Plus snow, so the gravel and dirt are jut not accessible. So it's beans again....
I'm not to in to the names on the real monster trucks so I did find some generics that focused more on colors. J.B. knows the difference, but Curious does not.
The big trucks are by New Bright - I found them at Walmart
The Little trucks I also found at Walmart in the party section.

Boys playing in the beans - I find them everywhere.

Curious really like the Orange one.

The trucks were great for hauling and dumping. I think J.B. turned them into dump trucks

I started Small and BIG with Curious. He really picked them up as words (saying them) YEA!!!!
as well as identifying small and big.

M is for Monster Trucks

Mm is for Monster Trucks.  We worked on this the week of 1/16 - 1/20
Oh Man! Jumping Bean has been waiting and waiting for this unit!
He was so super excited when we started.
I think they both were happy to be back in routine

Most of the printables came from 1+1+1 = 1 Preschool Packs

Morning Time with the Boys:

Curious working on the Letter Mm - Well he left the table but did not go far.
Yea!!! He is sticking around!!!

J.B. a play-doh pro!

The letter Mm with do-a-dots from COHS - Letter Mm

One on One with Jumping Bean:

Some Handwriting practice

Circle what is different - He is good at seeing the difference - so I have him describe what is different.
Why is it different. It's taking a little while but he is getting there.

Mom, their is something on my finger...
J.B. working on his Letter Book. As he glues the pics on we talk about the Mm sound and what it says.
Letter Book from Home School Creations

Monster truck graphing - J.B. really likes this - I print one off for me (mom) and we take turns rolling the dice.

It's interesting how he always wants to graph his favorite, not the one that is rolled.
Then he will get bummed if his favorite one did not "win" get the most rolls. It opens the door for talks about truth and honesty, How we don't always get what we want.

Mom, this is a motorcycle!!!
J.B. and his vocab cards. We still do our vocab race. J.B. still wins each time

Making a Monster Truck puzzle.

Our number this week was 14. So we used Cheerios to count up to 14 then we pilled them up on the number 14.

J.B. is coming a long way with patterns. I started the 1st one then he made up the 2nd.
Good Job Bud!!!

I introduced Monster Truck adding - we started with 1+1, then 2+1 up to 4+1
I don't think he quite got it, but we will try again.
In the 2nd pic his Monster truck were crashing and getting all muddy so the attention was not quite there. (hahaha)

Raising Rock Stars:

Here is RRS - Letter Mm looked for us this week.
Letter: Mm
Number: 14
Color: Red
Word: my
Verse: 1 John 3:18

The boys coloring their RRS verse.

Saying our verse, then singing songs, and dancing to music.

Learning other Mm words in the bible.
- Often these cards will jog some song lyrics, so I will sing a song.
This time J.B. was making up songs to each card - it was awesome. I just didn't get the video turned on in time. - Supper cute!

Working on different things he can share. A way of showing love.
We talked about it. Since he just had a Birthday he was not up for sharing all of his toys. So we had a pretty good discussion. He was not to thrilled about sharing his special toys.

Cutting and taping his verse. - He thought it was a really long mustache.

Fun Things we used:
