Vv is Volcano

The week 10/24 - 1028 was Vv is for Volcano. We had a lot of fun with Volcanos this week. We even made one. You can check out that post Making a Volcano.

Morning Time with the Boys:

I did not find any brown play-doh so we made our own. The boys are working on their letter Vv

play-doh mats and impressions. 

Jumping Bean and Curious coloring their verses.

Do-A-Marker? - I did not have a brown D-A-Dot so I used a brown marker instead - well Curious was not about to share the marker - See that face?

So Curious was excused from the activity until he was ready to share - took quite a while.

When he came back - he could share quite well - Good job Curious!!

Working on our magnets - Vv is for Volcano - Curious is off being curious about something.

The boys with their puppets saying our Verse and dancing as we sing our song. - A 60's versions of Blind Man. - They just love that song.

One to One with Jumping Bean:

J.B. working on his Volcano lacing card and puzzle.

J.B. cut and pasting our letter Vv letter page. - Not to thrilled about glue on his thumb. (LOL) As he glues the pic's on we talk about the V sound.

Jumping Bean with color matching - Each volcano has a color written in the color and J.B. has to color the volcano the correct color. Example: Brown

Different Hand writing practices.

Shadow Matching Capital V and Lowercase v. The other is sequencing - putting the volcano in the correct order. 

I just loved this - J.B. cut out most of the shapes.  Not just Squares around the shapes but the actual shapes - the first - He did a great job!!

Learning our vocab cards - Vv says.......

I was pretty excited to get a pocket chart - J.B. likes this - allows him to stand and more around. A great way for Curious to look at and play the cards. 

J.B. finding the word me in his book. We colored it brown so it would stand out, when we read the book. 

Counting - I got out the little beads and we put the number of beads on the number.
