Sensory Bin - Thanksgiving

Here is what our Thanksgiving sensory bin looked like

I used some popcorn, gourds, maze corn and some fall decorations.
I latter added some fall cookie cutters.

Curious helping size the gourds small, medium, and large.

The boys having fun playing in the sensory bin.

They scooped all the corn from the white bin to the green bin and made their own sensory bin.

Thanksgiving

Well we hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. - There is sooo much to be thankful for!
Our Theme for the month of Nov was Thanksgiving.
Our verse for the month was 1 Chronicles 16:34 "Give thanks to the lord, for He is good."

Most of the printables used came from Our Little Monkeys, 1+1+1, and 2 Teaching Mommies
A Big Thank You!
For your heart to make these great activities, and your willingness to share them!!

Jumping Bean on the left circling what is different. - On the right he was matching sizes

J.B. helping the Pilgrims get to the Mayflower handwriting practice.

Jumping Bean cut all the pieces out for this puzzle then we glued them on to green paper in the correct order. - There were a few we had to re glue - Over all he did a great job!!!

Making Pilgrim and Indian patterns. - I would start the A,B pattern and J.B. would finish it.

Same with the A,B,B pattern

Sorting Pilgrims with Pilgrim related items, and Indians with Indian related items.

Got out the Tt is for Turkey play-doh mats. I let them use what ever color they wanted.
They also used Turkey, Pumpkin, and Leaf cookie cutters.

I found these fun Indian head dress bands on the Family Fun web site - Last months issue had a lot of great ideas!!!! - I'll have to get more with it next year. We did make these!!

J.B. cutting and coloring his head band.

Taping the feathers on.

"Look at me I'm an Indian!!"

Curious was not so sure about coloring the feathers - So J.B. said he would help!

We got Curious' made - he wiggled so much that the head bad was to tight for his head. (LOL)
I adjusted it latter.

In the busyness of the day I did not get many pics taken - But here are my boy looking very dapper, keeping themselves occupied by coloring. - They really did a good job with all the commotion, and extra people!

Sensory Bin - ZOO

Our Zoo Sensory Bin - to go with Z is for Zoo

I was hoping to use some saw dust - but did not have any - so I used trusty beans - Again (LOL)
A Zoo Animal Toob
Animals from Noah's Ark
Foam letters

They have soo much fun with Sensory Bins!

I got out a book - "Polar Bear Polar Bear What Do You Hear?"
and had them match up the animals - and sounds.

I think Curious was more into making the sounds than Jumping Bean.

The boys just having fun!

Seeing what animals fit in the jars.

Z is for Zoo

We did Z is for Zoo - I had some fun ideas planed but it was a hard week!
I got a case of Cabin Fever (an alaska term for being shut in, cold, and depressed)  and lost some motivation for the week of 11/14 - 11/18.
I think it was average (-35 to -40 all week)

We did not get much done this week but here is how it looked.
I got all of the Zoo printables from 2 Teaching Mommies - Zoo

Morning time with the Boys:

As always - first you see him - then you don't. - Curious was really into his tot bins this week.

He did return to take a cute pic.

J.B. sharing nicely with Curious - Showing his Zz - yellow was our color this week.

J.B. would make the Z sound ever time curious made a dot - Curious found this pretty funny!!!

Jumping Bean and Curious working on their pom pom magnets.

1st time Curious was intentional about getting the pompoms in/on the circle!!!
Good Job!!

J.B. made a resting area for his horse then decided to read to them. - When Curious woke up from his nap he joined in.
I am so glad they like their books!

Working on our Heads -N- Tails Zoo animal puzzles. J.B. is making the sound of a lion - fierce!

In classic Curious style - interested for 1 sec and gone the next! - (LOL)

One to One with Jumping Bean:

J.B. pasting pics that start with Z for our letter page.

J.B. is coloring a Zoo book - Each animal had to be colored a certain color.

Later in the week - he cut it out and turned it into a book.

Different Z hand writing practice.

These were all Zoo animals - J.B. had to look at the animal tell me what letter it started with and then clip a close-pin on the correct letter. (example Z says Zebra)

I picked this up in some $1 bin - They are little animals that grow in water.
I thought it looked like Zoo Animals.

Jumping Bean decided to sort the colors.

Here J.B. is sorting out which Zoo Animals eat Plants and which ones eat Meat.

Here is what we came up with - There are probably some that fall in the middle - Oh well

This was fun - we worked on some graphing. J.B. rolled the Zoo dice 10 times and graphed how many times he rolled that animal.  I color coded the bottom so that each animal had a Do-A-Dot color.
J.B. rolled each animal once
The Monkey came in with the most rolls - 3
Then came the Giraffe, and Rhino with 2

Counting Zoo animals - J.B. had to count the animals and match up the number to the correct clothespin.

Learning our Vocab cards - "What starts with Z?"

Raising Rock Stars Time:

Well sad to say - this is as far as we got for Rock Stars this week.
Color: Yellow
Letter: Zz
Number: 11
Word: down
Verse: Luke 19:15

The boys coloring their verse

We did make our puppets and dance around to the song about Zaccheacus - I just did not get any pics.
