W is for Wildlife

Ww is for Wildlife
the week of 3/5 - 3/9

We had a great time with Ww is for Wildlife. I got the School Pack from
This is one that I purchased - Dawn you did an amazing job on this School Pack!!!
We loved it!
It has enough material to make it a monthly unit study
But we picked some for the week.

Morning Time With the Boys:

Working on making the letter Ww with play-doh

Do - A - Dot time - every time they stamp a dot we say the Ww sound.
Curious loves it - he gets to make noises!

They finished the Do- A - Dot's so fast - so I pulled out the wax stick
There are actually for making little animals,
but I had them try and make the letter Ww

Working on there magnets - All of the Watermelon printables came from

Showing off there magnet creations - Good Job guys!!!

My version of Letter Play
- I used the sound cards and put them all over the rug
then the boys would take turns tossing a beanbag at the pic they wanted

When it landed on/near the pic - they had to say what the pic was and the sound it started with.
- I made the boys Beanbags for Christmas with the letters of there name.
(So they do not match the card.)

One to One with Jumping Bean:

J.B. Working on his letter book page - from Homeschool Creations

What is Different? - and Which is More?
The What is Different he has been doing and understands
The Which is More - was a new concept - but I think he got it

J.B. and his color recognition - I told him to stay in the lines - so he did (LOL)

Capital W and Lowercase w sort

Different Handwriting practice sheets - yes he still loves to make faces!

A little cutting practice

Making a book - He really enjoyed this - so much so that he has been getting out
construction paper and making various books while I work in the office.

Working on Shadow matching - we put it in the pocket chart so he can stand
and move around.

Vocab cards - we review the cards - then we race.
So from the pocket cart to the lap tray, and back.
He has to grab a card and say what it is example: Ww says Watermelon
The first to  get the last one wins - I think he wins every time
The point is he is learning and moving around at the same time

J.B. graphing Wildlife - then reviewing the data.
I loved, loved, loved that data review sheet!
I've done similar questions with him on the graphing before
- But this was a great way for him to see the questions and he so got it!!!!

Not so sure what his expression is about - He is working on letter sounds
So R says Raccoon

This is a counting puzzle - J.B. cut all the strips - I scrambled the numbers
He had to put the puzzle back in the correct numerical order.
We always glue this on what ever color we are learning about for the week.
This week Orange

Working on Patterns

Sizing Moose

This was new for J.B - What number comes next
It was stretching - but he did well.

Acorn shapes - J.B. is great with shapes and there names

Plants vs. Animals - he cut out all the pics then sorted them.
To add to this - I took out our sensory bin and we used pants and animals for him
to sort - He sure did have fun with that.
Although some of our animals did not match the pic
so he did not like that.

We've done adding one other time - and he always starts to fade!
So I just did 2 examples and we moved on.

J.B. does like the letter find - I put all the letters in the cap and he has
to find the letters in the correct order - then tell me what he just spelled.
No - I don't think he can read - but we say each letter as he finds it
then look at the pic to say what he spelled.

Raising Rock Stars Time:

Here is our RRS - Letter Ww for this week.
Letter: Ww
Color: Orange
Number: 15
Word: we
Verse 1John 4:19

They boys coloring there verse

They just got done running around and singing with some praise music.
I think I asked them a questions - and that is why J.B. has a funny face.

This was a good idea - It's a love bouquet - So J.B. picked out some different ways
to love God like obey, smile, and sing. He cut them out and pasted them on
his bouquet. He used green because that is his favorite color.

Here he is taping his verse together.
