D is for Dinosaur

Well We worked on Dd is for Dinosaur the last week of Jan - So yes it's been a while since I last blogged. I've been in Ethiopia on a STM so just getting back into the swing of things.

I used some Dino  materials from COHS - letter Dd and some from
A Big Thank you to both for your heart to share these awesome learning tools!

Morning Time with the Boys:

Making the letter Dd out of play-doh - J.B. was  getting artistic with his. I still hep Curious put his letters together. He can roll the play-doh though.

Working on the letter D with Do -a- dots

I know the first pic is blurry - but he was so excited!! - Curious really has come a long way.
He is staying at the table, and trying to very purposely get the magnets in the circles!
Way to Go Bud!!

One to One with Jumping Bean:

J.B. working on his letter page

Some different handwriting practice sheets.

Sorting Capital D from lowercase d

What is Different?

Some different ways to work on Sizing - smallest to Biggest, and Small, Medium, and Large

Working on Color matching - COHS had these as puzzles
- I left them whole, to use with Curious next year.
I might cut them up latter but this is how we used them this time.

Our first time doing spelling - letter recognition - J.B. did great!
He wanted to do them randomly - I had him find the letters in order.

Some dino graphing using a spinner - this is always fun, except when his fav dino did not win
(get the most spins)

Vocab cards. - His favorite part is the vocab race afterward.

Putting together a dio puzzle - I had him sort edges from no edges. Then we do the corners fist, followed by the out side edge, Then we fill in the middle.

Looking through a search and find dino page.

Dinosaur Counting

We used our pocket chart for dino patterns. - Gives him a chance to stand up and move around.

After each activity - I have him put them in the Pocket Chart - Helps him move around, and shows everything we have been working on. This also allows both J.B. and Curious to "play" with them and get Curious more interested.
