Happy Birthday Jumping Bean!!

Jumping Bean turned 4 this month!!

Happy Birthday Bud!

He wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. His favorite color is Green. I only had christmas sprinkles so he got car's with red, white, and green sprinkles. 

He didn't mind.  

Looks pretty excited!

Got all of his candles - no problem.

We did 2 parties for him. - Just us on his Birthday, then the family came over for soup and salad.

I made another chocolate cherry cake with wiped cream frosting - did not turn out as well. 

I'm not sure why I don't have any pics of his set up. We did all green items, and I hung up pics of Jumping Bean from birth to current around the house. 

He had a great time. Thanks to all the family who came and helped out!

Christmas Tot Activity

This was my 1st real attempt at color recognition with Curious.

He did really well!!

J.B. made the color trays and together J.B. and I started to teach Curious his colors.

He can say Blue and Yellow best - sometimes Green, has a real hard time with the R in Red, I don't think he said White at all.

Curious loved, loved, loved this activity!!!

He would choose a bell - J.B. would tell him the color, and I would point to the matching tray.

If he put the bell in the right tray we would cheer and clap for him. 

If he put it in the wrong tray we would say "uh oh!! try again!!"

Curious would play with this through out the whole month!

With Mom supervision - he still likes to put things in his mouth sometimes. 

J.B. was really into this activity as well - I gave him a magnet clip to try and pick up the bells

Turns out he discovered the bell were magnetic and used the magnet to pick up the bells instead.

This was a BIG HIT!!! I'm sure we will use the color trays for other fun sorting!

Christmas School Fun

For the month of Dec - we played!!! 

It was an already busy season and I learned around Thanksgiving that I had to much planed and everything did not get done. 

So we have been taking it slow - slower!

Morning Time With The Boys:

The boys did lots of free play-doh time 

Put together a big floor puzzle of the Nativity 

Gave them a christmas tree printable and some stickers.

Here they are with their decorated Christmas Trees.

Mom's version of baby Jesus in a manger - so Jumping Bean was holding it and praying to Jesus 

I thought it was too cute.

One To One with Jumping Bean:

I used the nativity preschool pack from 1+1+1=1 

I had these great ambitions to make it a lap book with Jumping Bean.

Well we did some of the activities.

J.B. making a color book of the people and animals in the Nativity

Working on counting, and writing practice.

A fun word search game - you hide the words around the house - J.B. had to find them then write them out. He thought this was supper fun!!!

He made bracelets for everyone for Christmas.

We did Kk for the week of 12/5 - 12/9 - We did have fun with this. 

Most of the printables  for this came from 2 Teaching Mommies

Jumping Bean's letter book got left out and Curious was all about checking it out. So J.B. ended up reading to Curious the letters, sounds and pic. - pretty cute - good review for J.B.

One to One with Jumping Bean:

I cut the kites into rows then J.B. cut them out. 

Funny after he cut them all out he only used 2 for each size. 

Some different handwriting practices 

I really like how 2 Teaching Mommies makes these pattern strips. 

If I had more magnet paper I would print them on magnet paper then he could "play" with them in the kitchen while I cook.

I think graphing is right next to painting for J.B. so this time I printed off 2 sheets and graphed with him. Mom's on the left, J.B. on the right. The orange kite had the most rolls.

Capital K - Lowercase k sort from COHS

Working on vocab cards. - After we go over each one, we set up a race track and race from the pocket chart to the lap tray. Grab a vocab card, say the card and sound, race back to the pocket chart. The one with the most cards wins. - J.B. loves this, plus it's good exercise!

Cutting and pasting a Kite number puzzle - we used the one from 11-20 so J.B. could work on those numbers.

I needed to get some things made in the kitchen - So I put J.B. on the counter with some beads.
